Worship of Kali
The worship of Kali was suppressed in India by the British Raj. But it still remains very much alive. The supporters of Kali strangled their victims along the roads of India armed with a traditional cord in the dead of night. When the cult was almost wiped out a foundation stone of civilization was removed from mankinds progress.
The worship of sacrificial gods goes back as far as man. When man left tribalism and became civilized, he gave up being ruled by a single mans dictorial ideas, and not so the British Raj.
During the Raj, Kali the godess of the moderating Hindus was split from the extremist shi-ite moslems and they were at one time ruled over by a singular ruler. After the raj the shi-ites disappeared into their extremist culture. This is because Kali was looked on as the mother of the prophet and thus most of the thugees ( Kalis supporters) were moslems, this split caused an intrevereted hatred of the west, and made severe in roads into moslem, rights in India. The moslems are still the poorest people in India, they have darker skin and worshipped the black skinned mother godess, the hindu Kali, so fusing the free thinkers of India on both sides.
The hindus are the ruling class, so Kali stopped injustice, and although moderating the shi-ites, somewhat empowering moslem views. The Raj were white, and rascist, and so Kali was not suprisingly, a thorn in their side. The thugees were good fathers and husbands, not as portrayed, the thugees were more the assasins and the shi-ites the thugs. In the east tyrants from Tokyo to Tehran used lingering death as a punishment for poets, revolutionairies, and prophets and any free thinking people, death was an easy way out a godess with a fine following, and off to the happy hunting ground. The strong social regulator, the 'green hornet', hiding in the shadows.
